My Ultimate Family Packing List: Mom Wisdom Edition for Trip

I learned the hard way on 19th Avenue that preparation is everything. Here is the master list I use to make sure that no matter where I am, the family stays fed, cared for, and entertained. This is how I make sure our long flights (anything over 3 hours), long drives (anything over 20 minutes) and long dinners (at any restaurant) do not result in the classic meltdown. 1. The "Golden" Folder (Documents & Cash) Identification: Passports, IDs, Visas, Licenses and a printed Emergency Contact Card. Money: Backup credit card, cash, and a small amount of local currency. 2. The "Sanity-Saver" Carry-On Backup: One full change of clothes for every traveler (accidents happen!). Snacks: Kind bars, chocolate, cheese, fruit, and crackers. Takeoff/Landing: Sweets or candy to help little ears with air pressure. Comfort: Refillable water bottle (fill after security) and over-ear headphones for the kids (to watch TV!). 3.
